GVO insurance from Oldenburg and the software manufacturer tech11 from Würzburg are pleased to announce that the digital transformation and migration from the Cobol HOST to the tech11 Insurance Platform has been successfully completed.
Goal of the implementation: replacement of the Cobol system
The tech11 Insurance Platform implementation project at GVO was successfully completed at the beginning of this year. The aim of the introduction was to completely replace the Cobol system for policy and claims management, which had been in place since 1983. The tech11 Insurance Platform now manages all of GVO 's private and corporate customer business in all property insurance lines. When replacing the existing monolithic application, GVO relied on the introduction of tech11's modular platform, including policy and claims management, commission, partners, accounting and reinsurance.
Digital transformation milestone for GVO
With the introduction of the new core insurance system, GVO has achieved a significant milestone in its technological and personnel transformation process and has positioned itself optimally for the advancing digitalization in order to be able to offer its customers and partners optimal products in the future.
Statement from Martin Zimmer on the successful project implementation
Martin Zimmer, the responsible board member at GVO insurance comments on the successful completion of the project: "We placed our trust in a company that was very young at the time because we were looking for the most technologically advanced system on the market to make GVO fit for the coming decades. tech11 proved to be a reliable partner with a flexible system and at the same time established itself very successfully on the German market during the implementation period at our company, so that we and other customers will benefit from this standard software together in the future."
Phased introduction of the tech11 Insurance Platform
The project, which was divided into several phases, was initialized with a vertical cut across all modules. For this purpose, the top-selling household insurance was selected, which was remodeled and then migrated accordingly. The second phase involved replacing the financial accounting system previously integrated into the old system and introducing the claims module. In the third phase, all other products were modeled and the tech11 reinsurance module was introduced.
Successful collaboration and partnership-based solutions to challenges
Pierre Dubosq, CEO of tech11, adds: "We are very proud to have successfully completed this challenging project within the agreed timeframe and would like to thank GVO insurance for the trust they have placed in us. There are always difficult phases in such complex IT projects. And these phases show how challenges can be solved in partnership and at eye level. We succeeded in doing this with the people at GVO at all times."
The tech11 Insurance Platform as a blueprint for other customers
The implementation project at GVO has since served as a "blueprint" for other tech11 customers to better understand the challenges faced by medium-sized insurers in particular and to map them accordingly in the tech11 Insurance Platform. This includes not only technical requirements and the implementation in software, but also the cultural approach and the involvement of people in such a transformation.
