Founded in Würzburg in 2018, tech11 has quickly developed into a leading provider of core software for insurance companies. With over 100 employees, tech11 sets technological standards and promotes flexibility, customer loyalty and empowerment with its innovative platform.
But how does tech11 implement these unique selling points (USPs) in its day-to-day business and how are they integrated into every project?
Flexibility

Our key differentiator is the no-code approach to configuring our platform. With our Business Workbench product engine, it is possible to configure insurance products from start to finish without writing a single line of code. This approach is in line with our goal of becoming a one-stop store for our customers. We train our customers to configure their products, documents and claims independently, which saves time and reduces costs.
At a time when IT resources are scarce, especially in Germany, tech11 has created a developer-friendly environment where communication and documentation is in English. This enables our customers to hire international developers and scale their IT departments efficiently. Our international approach is also supported by a multilingual and multi-currency platform available as standard. This helps our customers to implement international business models and integrate country-specific requirements into the platform. Thanks to a multi-tenancy architecture, customers can manage multiple business units within a single platform instance.
For additional flexibility, all modules of the tech11 Insurance Platform communicate via REST APIs. This not only enables efficient internal communication between the modules, but also seamless integration into existing ecosystems. Every process on the platform is accessible via APIs, enabling the enrichment of processes with external data and the modular exchange of functionalities for our customers. Our user-friendly interface design ensures that users can operate the platform after just a few days of training. Our aim is to move away from complex expert systems towards a solution that is easy to use for all users.
Within our organization, we increase flexibility by using agile methods, such as the Spotify model. Our cloud-agnostic hosting strategy allows us to tailor hosting options to the specific needs of our customers. Whether on-premises, in a cloud chosen by the customer or as a full-service SaaS solution, tech11 offers solutions for every need. Especially in view of upcoming security regulations such as DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act), our customers benefit from our comprehensive expertise in cloud hosting.
Redefining standards
At tech11, we not only rely on modern technology, but also define new standards in the industry. All employees are trained on our tools and are committed to introducing new innovations and technologies to raise the technological standard at tech11. Despite our young age, we attach great importance to security and stability.
As we operate in one of the most regulated industries and countries, there are many hurdles to overcome when innovating in the insurance market. However, in order for us to fully focus on innovation, we have recognized that security is crucial. That's why we have certified our company to the ISO 27001 standard to ensure the secure operation of our platform in any environment. We are also working hard to implement the DORA guidelines, which will come into force in January 2025. DORA will significantly impact the way we develop software for our customers, especially the hosting process of our platform.
To further increase our efficiency in cloud hosting, we have implemented Quarkus as a framework. This not only improves the efficiency of our developers, but also reduces operating costs and significantly increases hosting performance. Our innovative architecture allows us to scale the platform both horizontally and vertically.
