tech11 wins specialist insurer for horticulture as a new customer!

tech11 GmbH has acquired another customer, Gartenbau-Versicherung from Wiesbaden, and will introduce the tech11 Insurance Platform as a new core insurance system. Gartenbau-Versicherung has been operating since 1847 and is today one of Europe’s leading specialist insurers in the horticultural sector.

tech11 will introduce the tech11 Insurance Platform including all peripheral systems in order to map the diverse and demanding insurance business of horticultural insurance. This is characterized by the high complexity of the product lines and a historically grown system landscape. In addition, the horticultural insurance environment is very demanding, as the system replacement will not only take place in Germany, but also in seven other European countries, for which a large number of country-specific interfaces and peripheral systems must be operated.

“The system we have used so far has been very reliable for a very long time. However, it cannot map new requirements, including those reaching us from external sources.”, says Dirk Schäfer, Head of IT/Systems at Gartenbau-Versicherung. “For us, it’s about integrating new services and technologies quickly and purposefully and making them usable for the benefit of our members. The main goal of the modernization is therefore to ensure the future viability of our high service standards and to further expand our role as market leader. We are very happy to have found a partner in tech11 who has a complete system that has been developed on a state-of-the-art technology basis and who has already realized successful system implementations in an international environment.”

The system implementation will take place in stages, with the project focus initially being on technical challenges and, in particular, on functional product modeling and migration. A complete replacement of the systems is planned for 2026 at the earliest.

“We are proud that Gartenbau-Versicherung has placed its trust in us and we are very much looking forward to this exciting project in an international environment.” says Pierre Dubosq, co-founder and managing director of tech11. “The challenges faced by Gartenbau-Versicherung are exemplary for many medium-sized insurers in Germany. The core systems are in need of modernization, the regulatory requirements are constantly growing and, last but not least, the people involved in such a project have to work together in a spirit of trust.”

The two parties will regularly report on the progress and challenges of this project at various industry meetings and conferences.
